Implant-Based Reconstruction

Implant-Based Reconstruction: Rebuilding what cancer took.

Cancer shouldn’t take your confidence or your sense of self. But Dr. Stalder and his team can help you feel whole again after a lumpectomy or mastectomy. Not every patient has enough tissue for autologous reconstruction. Or you might have comfort or confidence issues, either from cancer treatment or previous procedures. In those cases, implant-based reconstruction may help you achieve your desired breast size and shape, or even restore symmetry to your body. Some implant-based procedures can be completed in just one session, whereas others require several steps and several sessions to get you back to looking and feeling your best.

With a team that’s skilled in both plastic and microsurgery, we offer several implant-based approaches:
Staged Implant Reconstruction

Rebuilds the breast in stages, beginning with a tissue expander that gradually creates space for a permanent implant.

Direct-to-Implant

Reconstructs the breast with a permanent implant during the same surgery as the mastectomy, when medically appropriate.
