The approach we recommend will depend on a number of factors, such as whether you’ve had a full mastectomy or a lumpectomy; how much tissue there is to work with; and, most importantly, the shape and feel you’d like to achieve. And it’ll fall into one of several categories:
One of the most popular breast reconstruction options is autologous reconstruction, which uses your own tissue. In some instances, transferring tissue from certain areas of your body to your breasts offers the secondary benefit of improving your overall silhouette.
Learn MoreIf there’s not enough of your own tissue to work with (or you want more volume), implant-based breast reconstruction might be the best approach. This uses a breast implant to create your desired shape, or in the case of hybrid reconstruction, to supplement your own natural donor tissue to achieve the look and feel you want.
Learn MoreWhat sets oncoplastic surgery apart is that cancerous tissue can be removed and the breast can be reshaped, all during a single procedure. This allows us to remove a greater amount of tissue for safety, often as a lumpectomy, and proceed straight to reconstruction. And it offers the opportunity to ensure both your breasts look symmetrical. If implants, lifts or other procedures are needed to achieve that, they can be performed in conjunction with oncoplastic reconstruction.
Learn MoreYou don’t have to live with post-mastectomy results that don’t look the way you want, feel the way you want, or cause you pain. If you’re unhappy with work from a previous surgery, Dr. Stalder and his team can offer you a fresh opinion to help you decide on the procedures that’ll give you results that’ll make you feel whole again. Often corrective surgery addresses shape, symmetry, or implant failure. Every patient and every case is different. And we know this is especially true with corrective reconstruction.

Learn MoreWhile the shape and appearance of your breasts are important to regaining your sense of self, regaining feeling is too. Mastectomies remove nerves when breast tissue is taken out, which means you may experience numbness. Resensation® reconnects the nerves in your breasts. Restoring feeling and eliminating chest numbness isn’t just an issue of discomfort, emotional wellbeing, and sexual intimacy. It’s also a safety issue, as numbness could cause you not to notice an injury.
