There are a few reasons you might consider a TDAP flap, which uses tissue from your back around the bra line. It’s a nice way to get a natural look if there’s not enough tissue in the abdomen or thigh, for example. But it stands out as an option if you have a broad back or fatty rolls at your bra line you’d like to minimize. Sometimes it’s used in combination with other procedures if you need multiple donor sites to achieve the breast size and shape you want with your own natural tissue. It also preserves the underlying latissimus dorsi muscle so shoulder function isn’t compromised.
